Is Apple Ditching The Mini Series?
Hey iPhone Mini Users, we suspect that soon your phone is becoming more like an antique(hehe).
On 7th September, Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst claimed there will be 4 phones by Apple. Two 6.7 Inches will be released and two of 6.1 Inches.
If this is true, we have to say goodbye to the Mini users, unless they shift to the upper models or a special phone which is mentioned somewhere in our article.
The question is, why did Apple take such a huge decision all of a sudden?
We all remember when Apple released its first mini series, back when the iPhone 12 was released. It had a difference of 100$ from the standard iPhone model. The 5.4 Inches display made it into a lifesaver for normal users.
We do know some users termed the Mini model “a toy”, but believe it or not, holding it felt extremely comfortable!
Next year, Apple released another Mini series in its iPhone 13 lineup. So why didn’t Apple release its compact model in its 14 series?
Simply put, it was a Sales decision. According to data, the iPhone mini ONLY contributed 3% to Apple’s sales.
So why focus on a product that generates nothing compared with the company’s other models?
However, Apple is not entirely ending its smaller series. There’s a catch to it.
Apples New Mini Beast: The iPhone SE
The good thing is, iPhone SE has nearly the same specs as Apple’s latest lineup. A 4.7 Inch display holds up with the A15 Bionic chip. Not to forget the 3GB ram, making specs match up with the 13 Mini series.
Besides, it’s much more budget-friendly, costing about 429$. The biggest sacrifice you have to make is its 12 Megapixel camera. But hold your horses, it has excellent quality compared to other devices on the market.
Importantly, you should know that Apple does not update the SE as frequently as it does the usual models. Going back, Apple released 3 SE models, one in 2016, another in 2020, and one in 2022.
It isn’t as bad as it sounds though. We all know Apple is way ahead of its competitors, so your SE is going to last effortlessly before it’s updated.
We agree that the Mini series failed to impress Apple’s target market. That’s exactly what we love about the iPhone SE. It contributes more to Apple’s Sales, which means it isn’t gonna disappear anytime soon.
An Apple Analyst from a research firm, Runar Bjorhovde has also confirmed our conclusion.
Also, iPhone SE is Apple’s most affordable device to date! We are positive that people with lower incomes will be able to enjoy iPhone SE and its premium features.
In our opinion, ending the Mini Series will not have a big impact! In fact, iPhone Mini users can get an SE for a much cheaper price.
